How to Pledge and Pack a Shoebox
Step 1: Create a Supporter Profile
You will be required to register as a Supporter and to provide information like your name, mobile number and email address to ensure that you receive your Shoebox labels and any necessary updates and reminders. You will also be required to select your drop off location so that you can view and select from the list of children for your particular town or city.
Step 2: Find Your Nearest Drop Off
Our list will indicate whether there is a physical drop off point in your area. Can’t find your location? No problem! You can either volunteer to host a drop off OR you can pledge a Virtual Santa Shoebox. Please ensure that you can drop your Shoebox off on time, at the correct location or sadly it will not reach the child for whom it was pledged. Remember, a pledge is a promise!
Step 3: Select Your Recipient Child/ren
Once you have registered as a Supporter, you will be able to see the list of beneficiary children for your area. Step 4 is going to tell you a bit more about how to pack a Santa Shoebox, but it is important to note that each Shoebox requires 8 specific items to be included in it. The monetary value of the box depends on the age of the child and where the shopping is done, but in our experience the starting budget of a Santa Shoebox is approximately R300. Step 4: Decorate and Pack Your Shoebox
OMW this is TOTALLY the best part! Deciding what will bring your recipient child the most joy is a truly wonderful experience and decorating your Shoebox is LOADS of fun for the whole family. Make sure to get them involved! For the safety of the beneficiary child, it is HUGELY important that your Shoebox can be opened to be checked at Drop Off. PLEASE do not wrap your Santa Shoebox closed.

Step 5: Drop Off Your Shoebox
This really is the most important part! If you don’t drop off your pledged Shoebox on the date and at the location provided, your recipient child will not receive the Santa Shoebox you pledged for them. No one wants to disappoint a child! Make sure you sign up for email and text reminders to keep your Shoebox process on track. Precise drop off information and local contact details can be found on the Drop Off Map and also appear on your pledge confirmation email.
Step 6: Enjoy All the Happy Faces!
Once you have dropped off your Shoebox, all you have to do is follow us on social media and enjoy the pictures and videos of all the happy faces you have made possible this year. THANK YOU for sharing the joy of giving!
