Somewhere on our website is the name of a child you’re about to choose.
Out of everyone who could have picked them, you will be the one that does. Not because you had to. Because you chose to.
You click on a name, and something changes.
This is no longer one child among thousands. They’re your child.
Now you know their name. You know their age and clothing size. You know whether you are shopping for a boy or a girl. Their name will be carried into shops with you, checked against lists and thought about while you decide between this toy and that one.
For the next few weeks, you will know something they do not.
Someone has chosen them.
They will only discover that later.
And, long after the last sweet has been eaten and the clothes have been outgrown, one thing will remain.
Someone chose me.
